Trip #2

Just a few weeks ago I was fortunate to spend another week in Nebbi....this time with a group from Samaritan's Feet. It was good to be back "home" in Nebbi and seeing all the kids and how much they have grown and changed in just a years time. This trip was an absolute blessing because we were able to wash the children's feet and put a new pair of shoes on them. To say that this was a humbling experience would be an understatement. Nothing fills a room like a smiling, happy child with brand new shoes.

More posts to come about land development and the five year plans for Acres of hope but for now I will leave you with pictures of some of our shoe distributions. Also coming very soon will be the link where you can get involved sponsoring a child. Stay tuned....

I am so incredibly thankful for the group from Williamson's Chapel West in Charlotte, NC...what an honor to serve with them. I can speak for Geoffrey and Stanley when I say we look forward to partnering with them for years to come as we see Acres of Hope come to fruition.

For a video that guaranteed to make you smile click below. These are the children of Greenhouse Orphanage singing for us after we gave them new shoes. This ministry is amazing. A man named Kevin and his wife live in a house with 67 orphans who they are supporting and raising to love and fear the Lord. By the time I see them again there will be 68 because Kevin's wife is expecting a baby very soon.

$5.00 CHALLENGE

We are currently hosting the $5.00 CHALLENGE. Geoffrey contacted me on Sunday informing me that in order to get the Acres of Hope Ministry registered officially with government we would need $500.00 as soon as possible. This registration would help us in securing the land and raising additional funds.

The $5.00 challenge started on Tuesday, September 21st and we were looking for 100 people willing to donate $5. Along with your donation you will receive an AFRICA shaped silly band. As of this afternoon we have 43 confirmed donors...not quite half way there. Please feel free to spread the word.

Donations can be made through paypal by going to www.sportsmissions.com and putting in the note section that the donation is for Acres of Hope, Uganda, KB Thomas.

Please keep us in your prayers as we continue to raise money for the building project, seek sponsors for the children and cooridinate more trips to go back to Uganda.

Sponsorship Information

There are still over 40 children who need sponsors....are you willing to be a sponsor so that these precious kiddos can have adequate food, water and education.

For those who have already commited to sponsoring a child or multiple children the paypal link will be on the website really soon.

To sponsor a child will cost $250 a year or $20 a month....you can pay as much as you want at one time or you can pay by the month. Please feel free in addition to money to send letters and gifts to your child. I will have post an address where those can be sent and will be delivered to the kids. If paying through paypal there is a user fee of $1.00 for every donation so we ask that you would consider that when making your payment.

Thanks so much for your investment in the children of Acres of Hope Childrens Home.
Please feel free to spread the word....we would love to have all the kids sponsored by December. We are also in the process of raising money to purchase the land for the Children's Home and to get Acres of Hope registered with the government. Any an all donations are welcomed.
